Zhuhai Port Resource Integration: Hongwan Port Open for Declaration Stage

Recently, with the approval of the provincial port office for the establishment of the Hongwan vehicle inspection site in the Zhuhai Hong Kong Macao Logistics Park, the integration of Zhuhai port resources has begun.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Port Bureau, in recent years, the construction and development of ports in the city have entered a new round of climax. Gaolan Port is linked to the national "the Belt and Road" strategy, carrying the important task of developing the advanced equipment manufacturing industry belt, national energy base and leading port in the Xijiang River basin. There have been Shenhua coal, Xinhe ore, Qinfa dry bulk cargo, LNG and other professional modern terminals officially opened to the outside world. Sany, the Pearl River Steel Pipe, Offshore Oil Base, Xinhai Energy, Horun Grain, Gaolan Guoma and other equipment manufacturing industries, large containers and grain terminals are under construction. Gongbei, Hengqin, and cross-border land ports have successfully achieved the extension target set by the State Council, and Hengqin Port has achieved a historic breakthrough in 24-hour customs clearance. At the same time, the construction of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge port is in full swing, and the Qingmao Port has officially started construction. In the next three years, the number of ports along the Zhuhai Macao border alone will reach six.

The person in charge stated that the pattern of large-scale development and construction of ports has laid a good foundation for the convenience of port clearance, but also highlighted issues such as transportation organization, environmental protection, urban space, and especially the enormous pressure on the staffing of inspection units. To this end, the Municipal Party Committee and Government have decisively proposed to accelerate the integration of port resources, and to coordinate the planning and centralized operation and management of regulatory venues.

To align with this approach, following the suspension of operations at the Jiahua Port in the bonded zone last year, the Xiangzhou Port cargo terminal officially closed at the end of June this year. The opening of Hongwan Port has entered the declaration process, and the relocation of Jiuzhou Port is imminent.

It is reported that the integration of port resources will rely on the newly established Hongwan Import and Export Freight Vehicle Inspection Field to effectively undertake all import and export port cargo inspection and supervision tasks in the Daxiangzhou area, thus laying the foundation for the integration of port cargo inspection and supervision resources in the Daxiangzhou area. The goods inspection and supervision mode of "centralized inspection at the vehicle inspection site and port release" to be implemented at that time can not only achieve a more scientific and reasonable supervision system for inbound and outbound goods, but also effectively save human resources of inspection units, laying a solid foundation for further improving customs clearance efficiency and accelerating our city's opening up to the outside world.
